About the Founders:

Nooshin Javan, RN, BSN, BSM, MSN, is a 1965 graduate of National Iranian Oil Company / School Of Nursing (NIOC/SON).
In 1970 she was certified in the Tehran University School of Medicine's Midwifery Training Program.
After emigrating to the U.S in the 1970s, she furthered her education at Catholic University of America (CUA), School of Nursing with a degree in Education in Family-Child Nursing and at the George Mason University in Nursing Management & Administration.
In 1997, she earned her certification as a public health nurse from the California Board of Nursing. Nooshin immigrated to the USA in 1970s. As a single mother of her only son, she began full-time graduate studies at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. while she worked part time. After graduation, Nooshin assumed full-time work responsibilities in various positions including working as a staff nurse, a perinatal nurse consultant, a nurse educator, an associate professor, a nurse coordinator, and a nurse mentor. Her last position was teaching student nurses of a community college in Texas while she experimented with living as a Texan for a short period. Presently, she lives in Maryland, works full time in Washington, D.C., running a Health Center for Federal Occupational Health. Nooshin has traveled extensively and has visited 15 states in the USA. She has traveled to Europe, Cyprus, and the Middle East and has lived in California, Kansas, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, and Maryland.
She is constantly sustained by her love for humanity. Nooshin has always been service-oriented to all inhabitants of this world and has a great respect for cultural diversity. She is dedicated to her profession and believes that true nursing combines heartfelt compassion with highly developed skills. She loves to spend time with family and friends and is always available to help others. Nooshin has been active in both the American and Iranian communities. She voluntarily offers her service to victims of domestic violence and educates employers about this social issue. She is involved in other community activities, and enjoys helping to improve any services she is involve with. She also writes health-related articles in the Tehran Post - an Iranian community newspaper and speaks at Iranian organizations that serve Iranian communities and associations.

Simin Hayati, RN, MSN, was a graduate in the class of 1968 from NIOC.
She married in 1968 and became the mother of two sons, Arash and Daryoush Mansouri. After eight years of serving the NIOC Hospital in Abadan, she returned to Tehran, her hometown. She worked part-time and worked on her master's degree, graduating from the Imperial University of Medical Science and related health fields in 1984.She held various nursing and management positions such as the manager of an operating room in a private hospital and as nurse teacher to student nurses in the Ministry of Health, School of Nursing and Kodakyari School, In 1985, she immigrated to the United States with her younger son, Daryoush. Later, her oldest son, Arash, also joined her. She started her public service in the US as a staff nurse and was promoted to different positions such as case manager and documentation specialist in Medicare coding. She is currently married and has two grandchildren with a third one due in early March. Simin loves public work, swimming, traveling, and believes in living every day of her life as if there were no tomorrow. But she also believes in setting goals in her life and plans to live a long, healthy life. She is a great organizer, loves her friends and her family, and occasionally writes poetry.
